It’s only 3 months until summer is official here (well British Summertime starts in March) so it’s time to start planning our summer holiday for 2017. Usually in January we are bombarded with TV adverts and emails from holiday operators so start thinking about where you want to go and be ready with your dates of availability to jump on a good deal. Don’t worry if you haven’t a clue where you want to go, I’ve put together this list below with the hottest destinations for 2017:
The UAE country has been on the radar of Brits looking for a holiday with a difference for a few years now, but the major tour operators are also tagging on and offering package holidays to the new middle-eastern city. With extravagant shopping malls, hotels and stunning man made beaches, Dubai has it all. It’s also a hotspot for those seeking out some winter sun as the temperatures sit around 30c in our winter but rise sharply to 40c during the summer. The Caribbean island has been high up in the rankings by various travelling sites for months now, but next year Antigua will be high up on the list of places to discover during 2017. The West Indies are no longer attractive to only honeymooners but to families, couples and groups of friends. The first thing you notice when you arrive on the island is its laid back atmosphere, the gentle waves lapping sheltered bays and shores. It’s so idyllic and calming yet colourful and has all the aesthetics of a Caribbean island with its colourful villages and mesmerising wildlife. Try to book outwith the hurricane season which can trigger bad weather between May – August.
You can travel direct to Mexico from most UK airports now meaning the central American country is more accessible and affordable to go to. If you search hard, and look across the Cancun and Riviera Maya areas you will be able to find an affordable all-inclusive deal at a really nice hotel. If you are looking for vibrant nightlife and clubbing definitely stay around the Cancun zone, or for families the resorts up the coast offer excellent entertainment programmes, water sports and kids clubs. It really has something for everyone plus you are guaranteed warm temperatures all year round.
Possibly the most beautiful of the Greek islands, you can only fly here from selected airports but over the next few years expect this to change. Santorini has been a hidden secret for years but recently has become more and more popular with tourists and cruise lines from around the world. The stunning villages with blue and white houses and tavernas are breathtaking. Most accommodation places here only offer B n B to encourage you to move around the island. It’s a picturesque paradise that is pure luxury but also lets you escape from every day stresses.
