There are no absolute answer if where moussaka did originate. Some said it was from the Mediterranean, others claimed it was a dish in the form of a salad in the Middle East. Nonetheless, Greek inspired moussaka is the most well known variety from the rest. It is made from meat, potatoes, and eggplant. The loukoumades are dumplings of the Greeks. These are made from dough that are shaped like balls and deep fried until it turns golden brown in the outside yet soft and fluffy on the inside. Once cooked, the fried dough are smothered with icing sugar or drizzled with honey and served with yogurt on the side. Loukoumades are famous street foods which can also be bought on restaurants and sweet shops.


This is a heart friendly dish which is also known as the national food of the Greeks. It is made up of healthy ingredients like olive oil, carrots, celery, onions, parsley, bay leaf, plum tomatoes, and other selection of vegetables. It is served with Greek’s famous crusty bread which is a perfect dish during winter.
