Modern life is very stressful; not only do we lead busy lives at work, where the pressure to perform is always upon us, but we have a lot to put up with at home, too. That’s why we need a break once in a while, a trip away from it all, to somewhere as far removed from everyday life as possible. For many people, the opportunity to lie and relax on a beach, in the splendour of hot sun and with clear blue waters inviting you to take a dip, is the ideal scenario. It’s even better if you can take a chance to enjoy the shade of a palm tree in a tropical idyll, and nowhere offers you this opportunity better than Hawaii.
This magnificent and quite spectacular chain of islands, a part of the USA and located in the amazing warm waters of the Pacific Ocean, is like nowhere else on earth, and the island of Maui is the place to be. Indeed, you will find that the price of Maui beachfront rentals is much more affordable than you may have believed, and this is undoubtedly the best from of accommodation from which to enjoy the many delights of this quite astonishing and welcoming island.
Before we go on to talk a little more about the island itself, let us assure you that your accommodation will be second to none. You may be wondering why we recommend beachfront rentals, rather than a traditional hotel accommodation. There are many reasons: first, with your own accommodation, you get the convenience of being able to come and go as you please, with complete privacy and no other guests to worry about. You can eat when you wish, do what you want, and have no limitations.
Also, you get the benefit of truly luxurious accommodation – a true home from home – for very sensible prices. As an example, take Ilima Residence; located on one of the most beautiful beaches on the island – if not the world – this stunning villa looks out over the world famous Kapalua Bay, with views that simply have to be seen to be believed. You get a truly luxurious home that is fitted with everything you need, plus the benefit of access to the local leisure club, and you can relax and enjoy the stunning evenings with alfresco dining all you want. Sleeping up to six people, this is a much more cost-effective way of enjoying Maui than booking a hotel, and you will be able to enjoy your holiday to the full.
It is no exaggeration to say that Maui boasts some of the very best beaches in the world. This amazing island is ringed by warm, soft sand with the wonderful clear blue waters of the Pacific lapping gently at the shore, and there is nowhere to match it on the planet. Hamoa Beach, a world-famous destination that features a 100ft wide beach that has few equals, lies on the east side of the island and offers unrivalled Scuba diving and snorkelling opportunities. With amazing reefs under the water, ready to be explored, there is every reason to get active here, or you may just want to settle back and enjoy the sun.
To the south of the island is Big Beach, otherwise known by its Hawaiian name Oneloa Beach, which offers a stunning stretch of sand that is two thirds of a mile long. Although popular, the size of the beach means that you will certainly be able to find a spot to settle and relax, and you will enjoy the swimming and snorkelling opportunities, too. Maui is home to many of the finest beaches you will find anywhere in the world, and these are just two suggestions, so you are bound to find somewhere to adopt as your preferred relaxation spot during your stay.
Dining Out on Maui
Part of the enjoyment of taking a holiday somewhere different lies in enjoying the local cuisine. You can shop at local markets and buy authentic local produce to cook in your rental accommodation, or you can take the opportunity to visit local restaurants or cafes, and sample local food cooked to perfection. Maui has some excellent restaurants that we fully recommend you try, and most are perfect for both families and couples.
CJ’s Deli and Diner, located on the main street in Kaanapali, is well worth a visit if you want a casual and friendly dining experience. With a full range of affordable local dishes, this is a friendly and welcoming place that gives you a chance to enjoy authentic Hawaiian dishes for very little cost. You should also seek out Da Kitchen, a fabulous place with a wide variety of dishes on a very sensibly priced menu, and be sure to try the local speciality, the Kalua Pork plate lunch. One recommendation we have is that you will find the portions in Hawaiian restaurants to be of more than ample size, so consider sharing and saving money!
Maui is a place like nowhere else on earth, a genuine tropical paradise with many fine attributes and a very special atmosphere. Everywhere you go you will be treated to the legendary Hawaiian friendly welcome, so why not check out the various beachfront rentals, and see how you can afford to take your partner or family on holiday to a part of the world that is unique, beautiful and thoroughly captivating.
